One of the first decisions you’ll make as a new HubSpot Marketing user is who you’ll task with onboarding your portal. Will you choose to onboard through HubSpot, or will you choose to onboard via an agency? We’ve already written a blog highlighting the differences between HubSpot and Agency onboarding, however this blog will focus on how Webs specifically approaches this subject.
Who will be onboarding you?
First let’s talk about who will be involved in your onboarding process. Webs has a team of HubSpot technical consultants made up of ex-HubSpoters, marketers and designers. Each one of these technical consultants is a HubSpot expert with deep technical expertise on the HubSpot tool and the inbound methodology. In addition, all of the technical consultants at Webs have performed numerous onboardings in the past, so they’re prepared for even the most difficult scenarios.
What are the goals of onboarding?
The first goal of any marketing onboarding is to technically configure the HubSpot portal in a way that enables a company or individual to achieve their goals. Since everyone is different, the “goal” will then vary from onboarding to onboarding. For example, someone might have purchased HubSpot with the goal of generating traffic and leads, while another person might have purchased HubSpot with a goal of emailing their customer base. In each scenario, the basic onboarding elements are needed, however the different goals also necessitate additional steps.
What steps are involved in the onboarding process?
After hundreds of onboardings Webs has crafted a series of simple steps to help ensure new HubSpot users are onboarded successfully and efficiently.
The first and most important step of every onboarding process is the kickoff call. The kickoff call has a few objectives, most important of which is introducing you to the HubSpot technical consultant and defining the specific goals for your onboarding process.
The moment this kickoff call is completed, the onboarding work begins. One of the more time-intensive elements to onboarding is the creation of page and email templates. Since these items take the most time, the Webs onboarding team will begin the template creation process as soon as possible. Both the page and email templates will be created based on your existing website's existing look and feel. In doing this, we integrate your HubSpot hosted emails and pages seamlessly to your existing website and companies branding. Additionally, both the email and page templates are created using HubSpot drag and drop tools. This will allow you to easily customize your pages and emails without help from developers.
Once the template creation process has started, the focus moves to the technical steps. These technical steps include a number of different items crucial to get your portal working correctly. These steps include items like data imports, GDPR settings, analytics tool setup, account preferences and DNS setting. In most cases, these technical items are the most complex to set up, however the Webs technical consultant will assist and guide you throughout the process. Once these technical items are completed, your HubSpot portal should be ready to use!
The final step to the onboarding process is the final review call with the technical consultant. In this call, the technical consultant will walk you through the steps taken in the onboarding process to ensure that everything has been completed. During this call the technical consultant will also provide training on how to use the different pages and email templates created, as well as how to keep your HubSpot portal organized.
Overall, the Webs onboarding process usually takes 1 months to complete with the end-result being a HubSpot portal that’s ready to start achieving your Inbound goals.
